Cor

Ah, sweet and innocent Cor, this girl is part of the Tecolotls, rivals of the Quetzals. She’s pretty humble, always going out of her way to help others, prefers to take the burdens from a person if she can, and tries to keep peace everywhere she goes. She’s like a female version of Link.

She’s girlfriend of Kougi, leader of the Tecolotls, so she’s always with him, and usually deals a lot with Link and Aliku.

Her name comes from Latin for Heart.

You can say that Quetzals and Tecolots represents the good and bad guys in the story.
The Quetzals were guardian spirits, bound to protect their charges at all cost. They are beautiful birds with long, phoenix-like tails, of blue, white, red and green colors. In the ancient tradition, it says that the Quetzal had a white chest, until the day one of them couldn’t protect his charge, who was hit with an arrow in his heart, and the chest of the two turned red with the blood. The Quetzal died in the same moment than his charge. The other Quetzals decided to carry red feathers on their chests as a sign of their grief for that single lost life.
The Tecolots were the “demon” birds in the Mexica tradition. The translation goes between Owl and Demon. Usually are representatives of death, war, darkness and evil, but they prefer to act in a low profile instead of causing destruction at their wake. Very intelligent creatures, not entirely “evil”.
